The 2023 Acura MDX is a beloved midsize crossover with a long-established reputation for sleek design and smooth performance. How well does it hold up against the 2024 model? Both model years are available at MotorWorld Acura — check them both out in person today.

Performance Features

Both the 2023 and 2024 models have identical engines. Under the hood is a Premium Unleaded V-6 3.5-Liter engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both also utilize a front-wheel-drive drivetrain, though all-wheel-drive is available. The total output is an impressive 290 horsepower.

Safety Features

Both model years include AcuraWatch™, the brand’s suite of safety features. With it comes a number of safety technology that comes standard. Examples include:

  • Blind Spot Monitor
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Stability Control
  • Backup Camera

These features are all standard for both the 2023 and 2024 iterations.

Trim Options

Both models have six trims available, including the Acura MDX Type S. When you select this high-performance trim, several options become available, such as Azurite Blue and Premium Orchid leather upholstery, and dark wood for the cabin trim. The engine is upgraded to a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine with a 355 hp output. The drivetrain is also enhanced to all-wheel-drive.

Vehicle Ratings

Ratings from automotive sites are also near-identical. U.S. News, for example, gave the model a 7.9 and 8.0 overall rating for the 2023 and 2024 years respectively.
