Summer is over and fall is in full swing. The changing weather can have an impact on the components that make up your vehicle. This makes Acura service at our dealership in Wilkes-Barre, PA all the more important.

Learn which services are commonplace and recommended at the onset of autumn.

Check the Heater

Fall can get quite chilly, so check the heater. When you turn on the heater, it’s normal to take about a minute for the air to warm up. However, if it’s taking abnormally long, or if the air still feels cool, then there may be an issue, perhaps with the heater core.

Examine the Tires

Heat causes air inside a tire to expand. This is a common problem in the summer and something to be cognizant of since the season just ended. Be sure all four tires are in good shape by performing a visual inspection of the tire treads and sidewall.

Look at the Wipers

The rubber blade that wipes away the water can crack under high temperatures. If the wipers aren’t effectively removing water or are leaving streaks on the windshield, then it’s time for a replacement.

Test the Battery

A technician can perform a voltage check on the battery. This is an important fall to-do task because extreme hot and cold can cause molecular changes of the battery’s internal fluids. It can also cause the battery to swell.

Test the Lights

With fall, there are fewer daylight hours, making your headlights more important. Dying bulbs or clouded lens covers can diminish brightness and reduce nighttime visibility. Replace bulbs that appear dimmer than normal.
