Standard Acura MDX
First, let’s take a look at the base Acura MDX. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated V6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The total output is 290 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, though there’s an option for an all-wheel-drive upgrade.
Also included in the standard trim is a power sunroof that can be operated remotely, as is a power tailgate. With the proximity key fob, lock and unlock your door before you even reach the driveway or parking spot.
Acura MDX Type S
The Acura MDX Type S is the model’s performance-oriented trimline. With it comes a number of impressive modifications and add-ons. The main upgrade is the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 355 horsepower. Other performance enhancements include adaptive dampers and an air suspension. It also includes Brembo® monobloc front brake calipers that provide improved stopping ability especially when turning tight corners.
Furthermore, the front exterior is enhanced with an Open Surface Diamond Pentagon Grille. Apart from the sportier aesthetics, this grille design also helps to feed more air into the turbocharged engine. On the cosmetic front, the Type S is available in Tiger Eye Pearl paint, a color exclusive to this trim.
