Performance
As a Type S variant, performance is what most prospective buyers are going to be interested in. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter Turbo V6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.
This is made possible thanks to the engine architecture that enhances performances through quad exhaust outlets. For comparison, the Acura TLX features a V4 Turbo engine that delivers 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
Aerodynamics
Aerodynamics must be a factor when it comes to optimal performance. Acura engineers fined-tuned the aerodynamics of the Acura TLX Type S with the addition of a lower front splitter to optimize downforce. At the same time, the Open Surface Diamond Pentagon Grille is designed to draw maximum air into the engine.
Cabin
The interior is elegant with a hint of sportiness. The use of Ultrasuede®-trimmed upholstery and flat-bottom steering wheel really evoke a sense of a vehicle destined for the racetracks. There is a sense that the Acura TLX Type S is the athlete of its family.
Exterior
The outer design primarily consists of the Sport Exterior Appearance package optional on the standard Acura TLX, albeit with some modifications. The gloss-black grille is unique to the brand’s Type S series. Jewel Eye LED headlights add a nice finishing touch.
